Thank you all!
First, I would like to pass on my very grateful thanks to all members of our Club for their very generous donations and support for my Charity Day held on 19th May. And, with the weather also being really good, it made for a most enjoyable day for all. The sausage rolls and snacks at the half way hut along with a beer or two, or maybe a “Pimms”, were in great demand, (I believe the Pimms was very enjoyable, the mixture being made up with a John Bullock special recipe which included some rather strong lemonade!). Overall a very successful day which resulted in £2,800 being raised for the Alzheimer's Charity.
Commiserations to Terry Heaver and his Gray Cup Team who unfortunately lost their match away to Cherry Lodge on 24th May. The weather was not particularly helpful for the team, with heavy rain the previous night making the course very wet, and even flooded in some areas, plus their match tee times were delayed on the day.
Although we are now out of the Gray Cup, and the Royal Blackheath Trophy, we are still going strong with our Perman Shield Team; the Sundridge Park Trophy team; Wilding Cole and West Kent Cup teams and I’m sure they would all welcome your support at their forthcoming matches, good luck to them all. You should find dates and venues for these in the 'Club Matches' section of the website.
Our Juniors are also doing well. Congratulations must go to Kurt Denison and his team, who on 6th May played against West Kent in the Knole Park Trophy. It was a very tight and exciting match, with our lads managing a 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 victory. They will now be playing in the next round at the Nevill Golf Club in Tunbridge Wells and, again, any support you are able to give the team would be most welcome. Details will be published as soon as we have them.
Our next big social event is scheduled for 7th July where your support would be most welcome and is of course an evening with Dolly Parton and Frankie Valli, along with an enjoyable meal provided by our most excellent Chef and caterers. The dress code is relaxed and the whole evening promises to be most entertaining.
Don’t forget also Father’s Day Lunch on 17th June !!
One last thing. It reminded yet again last week, visiting other venues, how fabulous our course is at the moment. It may be getting tight in some areas, and I know some of our members have beefed a bit about the carry off some tees, but its only when you go away that you realise how fortunate we are. So, don't complain, get out there and enjoy the challenge.
That’s about all for now. Take care.
