Our junior team travelled to Royal Blackheath Golf Club last Sunday (22nd September) to play against Dartford, aiming to win the Knole Park Trophy for the first time.
Harry Parkhouse led out the team and went down early on, but good golf secured him a 5&4 win by the close. The first point on the board for R&CPGC.
Going out in the last match, Matthew Darbinson had a superb round, beating his opponent 6&5, putting the second point on the board. Meanwhile, Luke Jenkins, out in match 2, secured a 3&2 win on the 16th to secure the crucial winning point at 3-0.
In match 3, Lucas Dennison had a hard fought game which went right down to the 18th, but was narrowly lost.
Junior captain Riley Dowle was out in match 4. This proved to be another very tight match which went down to the 18th all square. However, Riley won the 18th to give the team their final point.
The day ended with a final score of 4-1 and R&CPGC winning the Knole Park Trophy for the first time.
The team was managed on the day by Rob Parkhouse, in Kurt's absence.
