Here's what Club Captain Mark Riddick had to say:

"I am delighted, and very proud, to tell you that we have very quickly raised the money required to fulfil our first child’s wish, Amy from Maidstone will be going to Iceland to see the Northern Lights."

"We have already, in our first week of supporting this charity, raised well over £4,000. That gives us a head start for our next child's wish, the details of which we hope to announce in the New Year.  In the meantime, let’s keep building up the funds we have left over after funding Amy’s trip to give us a great chance of quickly fulfilling the wish of another critically-ill child.  Our Lady Captain, Mandy, and I are really proud of what has been achieved so quickly for Amy.  You should be too, it was a real demonstration of your generosity and kindness.  Thank you all."

Amber Woodward, Regional Fund Raiser at Make-a-Wish added: "Thank you so much to all of those that have given so generously.  For families like Amy’s your support enables life changing experiences and the start of hopeful new dawns.  Granting a child’s one true wish is amazing, and from us all, thank you – you are our #wishheros!
