Sunday 30th June saw the first Junior Club Championship take place at R&CPGC, which was also a qualifier for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Championship. On offer for the Scratch winner was the Davis Trophy and for the Nett winner, the Rackham Trophy.
A bright summer afternoon saw ten of our junior golfers competing for the trophies in relatively breezy conditions and rough long enough to lose the Juniors themselves, let alone a golf ball!
The competition was played in handicap order, and a low gross score was posted in the first group by Oliver Lewis-Perkins scoring a very good 74 playing off +1. However, this wasn’t quite low enough with Harry Parkhouse carding an excellent 72, playing off 6, meaning Harry won both the Scratch and Nett trophies.
Congratulations to our new Junior Club Champion Harry Parkhouse, and good luck with qualification in the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Championship.
