The annual Christmas competition was held on the first weekend of December. The captain, John Bullock, laid on everything but forgot to put in a good word for the weather! On Saturday morning it was blowing hard and the rain was coming down horizontally, but still there were some very brave people prepared to play golf! The half way hut served tea and coffee, alongside mulled wine and a huge array of booze... all thanks to the Captains' generosity (the brandy ran out within an hour!)
The competition was split into 3 sections: Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The Saturday afternoon players got slightly less wet, but the Sunday players chose well, we even saw some playing in shirt-sleeves!
Without a doubt the biggest winner of the weekend was the Captains' charity thanks to many very generous donations in the hut.
The winners from the weekend's Christmas Competition are shown below. Well done to everybody who braved the weather in pursuit of a prize!
