After writing to you at the beginning of this pandemic it now seems appropriate to be in touch again as we ease out of lockdown and get back to some sort of normality, which at the time I did not envisage would take this long.
Your safety and health have been at the forefront of everything that has been put in place over the last few months, and your patience and support during these times has been invaluable, which I thank you for. There have been difficult times for sections of the club from Catering to Bar and Pro Shop and of course the office, and behind the scenes there has been a lot of heartache/sorrow and hard work along with numerous zoom meetings and sheer determination to survive one way or another with a club worthy for members to come back to, and I have been proud to have been part of this. So I ask that you please now support these areas of the club as much as you possibly can to help them survive and prosper in the future for your benefit and pleasure. The social side of the golf club is an important part of many of our lives.
As Captains, Mark and I had great ideas and plans for this year but unfortunately it was not to be, and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Mark for staying positive throughout these difficult and disappointing times. I also apologise for not being able to socialise with you all, which I have missed, as this was part of my Captaincy that I was looking forward to.
Once again, I thank you all for your support over the last few months, wish you all well in the future and hopefully, at some point, can join you for a drink in the bar! "
