On Saturday 30th March the club held a Blues night. Well-known old rocker Steve Howard kindly offered to put on a ‘Blues’ evening and found an entertainer called Steve West Weston and his band to play at the club. It was a very casual event … no food, just bring your own nibbles.  The club had a casual feel with gingham tablecloths and candles on the tables, and lights down low so one could relax with friends and listen to the music. The band were so good that by the end of the evening we could have done with a dance floor, as so many people were up on their feet and dancing.

The very next day was Mothering Sunday, so the staff worked hard to transform the clubhouse ready to seat 117 for Sunday lunch. The ovens were fired and Danny set to work producing a rolling roast lunch with all the trimmings. It was so good to see so many families enjoying their day, from the very young to the very senior, all with smiles on their faces as the magician wandered among them doing close tricks at their table.
